30-SECOND BRIEF
What it does—and when it fits
Grilling stress-tests a plan, decision, or idea as a dependency-aware design tree. It asks each currently unblocked frontier of questions in numbered rounds, supplies a recommended answer for every decision, researches discoverable facts rather than delegating them to the user, and does not act until every branch is resolved and the user confirms shared understanding.
INSTALL BY AGENT
Choose your Agent
Paths come from official Agent docs or the universal installer behind skills.sh. Compatibility still follows this Skill's record.
.claude/skills/grilling/~/.claude/skills/grilling/Use project scope for team sharing and personal scope across repositories. The installer defaults to project scope; add -g for personal scope.
npx skills add mattpocock/skills --skill grilling --agent claude-codeClaude Code discovers custom Skill folders automatically at project or personal scope.

A practical workflow
Expose hidden decisions
Map assumptions and dependent choices into a design tree instead of discussing only the obvious question.
Resolve decisions in order
Ask all currently independent frontier questions together, then recompute what becomes answerable.
Add a point of view
Pair every question with a recommended answer while leaving the final decision to the user.
THE TRADEOFFS
Advantages and tradeoffs
Notable strengths
- This profile is manually organized around the current upstream SKILL.md workflow.
- The capability boundary remains explicitly tied to mattpocock/skills.
- Core uses, limitations, and risks are separated for pre-install review.
Limitations
- It deliberately delays implementation until the decision tree is complete and explicitly confirmed.
- A broad idea can generate many rounds and requires sustained user participation rather than a quick output.
BEST FIT
Who it is for
Founders and teams stress-testing important plans
Users facing interdependent product or technical decisions
BEFORE YOU USE IT
Risks to review before use
Decision fatigue or recommendation anchoring
Many questions can exhaust the user, and confident recommendations may bias choices before alternatives are understood. Keep rounds bounded, show tradeoffs, distinguish facts from judgment, and preserve the user's authority.
Upstream instruction drift
Behavior can change with upstream updates. Record the commit used for important workflows and review updates before adoption.
SECURITY
What the permission profile means
- Declared access remains governed by the current upstream SKILL.md and runtime requests.
- Treat repository files, web content, and tool output as untrusted input.
- SkillSignal has not independently executed or security-audited this package; external skills.sh labels are not SkillSignal certification.
Not a security certification. External ratings are attributed references. SkillSignal has not independently executed or security-reviewed this Skill.
